Hide or retire a service
Seasonal treatments end, experiments flop, menus change. The clean way out is hiding, not deleting: the service stops taking bookings while every past visit keeps its history intact.
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, or Manager.
Hide it
- In the left sidebar, click Services.
- Click Edit beneath the service.
- Untick Bookable.
- Click Save changes. The service wears a "Not bookable" tag on your menu, disappears from your booking page, and stops appearing in New appointment.
Bring it back
Same path: tick Bookable again and save. Seasonal services can hibernate for free.
Example. Golden Coast's "Summer glow package" ends in September. The manager unticks Bookable, and the booking page drops it that minute. Every summer appointment that included it stays on the books, prices and history untouched. Next June, one tick brings it back.
Common questions
- Can I delete a service outright? There's no delete on the Services page, on purpose: past appointments reference their services, and deleting would orphan history. Hiding gives you everything deleting would, without the damage.
- What happens to future appointments that already include it? They stand. Hiding stops new bookings; it doesn't cancel anything already booked.
- Does hiding change reports? No. Past revenue and visit history keep the service's name and numbers.
- Clients keep asking for a hidden service? That's data. Unhide it, or note the requests; the no-result searches on your booking page tell you what your menu is missing.
Good to know
- Hidden services still show on your own Services page (with the tag), so the menu you manage stays complete even when the menu clients see is curated.
- A tidy public menu converts better than a long one; hide the long tail and watch what changes.
